Job Description:

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with deep Databricks expertise to join as a Subject Matter Expert. This role will be responsible for enabling and automating infrastructure tasks across Databricks environments using UI, CLI, REST APIs, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).

The engineer will focus on Azure cloud infrastructure and networking , supporting secure deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and environment provisioning. As a standalone SME , this role collaborates closely with developers, data engineers, and platform stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient Databricks operations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Own Databricks infrastructure enablement (80% Databricks, 20% general DevOps).

  • Configure and manage Databricks workspaces, private endpoints, and secure networks.

  • Automate provisioning and deployments with Terraform and GitHub Actions.

  • Support CI/CD pipeline setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

  • Perform operational debugging for compute, storage, and networking issues.

  • Partner with developers, data engineers, and platform teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

  • Implement and enforce security best practices and compliance standards.

  • Enable user onboarding and troubleshoot adoption challenges across Databricks environments.

Must-Haves:

  • Hands-on expertise in Databricks UI, CLI, and REST APIs.

  • Experience with Azure Databricks , VNets, Subnets, NSGs, Load Balancers, and containerization.

  • Proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code.

  • CI/CD pipeline experience, preferably with GitHub Actions.

  • Knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and networking policies.

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to operate independently as a standalone SME.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Broader DevOps background (CI/CD, monitoring, environment automation).

  • Familiarity with additional cloud DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).

  • Prior experience in highly regulated or secure environments.
