Overview
The Baker/Pastry Cook is responsible for assisting in all aspects of pastry production including portion and inventory control, food quality, and consistency. They adhere to the systems and standards set by the Chef De Cuisine and Pastry Shift Leads. All staff should be focused on and demonstrate a guest-centric attitude and culture. In addition to maintaining our vision by adhering to our values and standards, this position must provide the highest level of service to our guests.

Responsibilities

• Pastry prep and production, baking, restocking, daily product inventory, cleaning and organizing the kitchen.
• Execute the morning bake in order to have all display and stock ready 15 minutes before opening. Continues to produce throughout the day at pars and intervals set by the CDC.
• Maintain high standards of quality and appearance of all food prepared and served.
• Execute daily production lists and maintains inventory that reflects the pars set by the CDC.
• Work cleanly and maintain a tidy workstation.
• Identify efficiencies/inefficiencies in production.
• Adhere to policies, standards, and systems set by the company and management team.
• Take a daily inventory of back stock, new production, served product, and waste.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• At least one year of experience in a professional pastry kitchen
• (Must) Knowledge of Basic Pastry Prep: Granola, Jams, Spreads, Exc
• (Plus) Knowledge in Pastry Production: Lamination, Cakes, Pies, Exc
• Able to maintain focus on production in a high energy atmosphere
• Can weight out recipes using scale
• Ability to multitask and adapt to the ever-changing climate of a new business opening.
• Works well under pressure
• Passion for good food and quality customer experiences
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Able to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits; ServSafe certification/ Food handlers Certificate
• Must be able to legally work in the United States

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Able to work 8+ hour shifts while standing or walking for extended periods of time
• Able to commit to early morning shifts (5-6AM)
• Able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Able to grasp, lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
• Able to maneuver effectively around the kitchen, restaurant office, and up/downstairs
