Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• Student must be registered in a graduate or post-baccalaureate professional degree program at the University of Minnesota. Please review: Eligibility for Graduate Assistant Employment.

Preferred Skills or Experience

• Teaching Assistant experience is a plus
• Communication and organizational skills are a plus.

Expected Supervisor

• Instructor of assigned course (See "Course Options" above).

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Grading of examinations, reports, and/or assigning final grades.
• Preparation of examination or class materials.
• Organization of course.
• Assistance provided to faculty in the teaching or advising of students registered in specific courses.
• Supervision or instruction of laboratory classes, recitation sections or intern groups.
• Academic administrative duties directly related to administration of a course.

Appointment Details / Work Schedule

• Spring Semester Appointment
• Expected Start and End Dates: 01/08/2026 - 05/24/2026

Appointment Percentage / Hours

• Standard hours are dependent upon course assignment.
• Expected 12.5% - 50% time appointment (5-20 hours per week)

Work Location & Schedule

• UMN St. Paul Campus; Department of Food Science & Nutrition
• Between 5 - 20 hours per week depending on appointment percentage, Monday thru Friday varying hours based on course times, etc
