A hospital pathology department in Bismarck, North Dakota is seeking a Board Certified Pathology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide locum tenens coverage. This role focuses on grossing and diagnostic support within a hospital pathology lab and offers a consistent weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or call.
Schedule:Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
Perform gross examination of biopsies and complex surgical specimens.
Conduct and stain frozen sections in accordance with departmental protocols.
Follow established procedures for allocating medical renal and/or medical muscle biopsies.
Ensure accurate specimen handling, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
Collaborate closely with pathologists and laboratory staff to support timely and accurate diagnoses.
Document all work in Epic and SoftPath EMR systems.
Qualifications:
Board Certified Pathology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Experience in hospital-based pathology lab settings preferred
Proficiency with grossing biopsies and complex specimens
Familiarity with frozen section techniques
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary pathology team
